Altoona

I plan on taking more pictures here and there of things and places in Altoona, and the surronding environs. It's maybe a way of showing where I am from, preserving memories or something along those lines. I'm not quite sure. Anyway, look for this section to be updated.

- Reighards Gas Station advertises that it's the oldest in America. As far as I know, it's still a full service station...imagine that, you can get your windows cleaned, and car filled up and you don't even have to get out of it
- This is the Baker Mansion. It's a historical site in Altoona. Here is a link if you're interested in finding out more.

- This building is the Horseshoe Curve building.

- This is City Hall. I took this picture from the side, because I don't want to stand by the Penn Alto. If you were standing at the Penn Alto, looking at City Hall, this would be the left hand side.
- This is a view looking off of the 17th st. bridge. To the right you can see the Railroaders Museum. To the left is the PRR Expressway. I saw a sign one day, and I'm assuming that's what the road I'm driving on is called.

- This is the Cathedral in Altoona. I'm not very religious, but I like the look of religious buildings.
- This culvert is where we would come to when we were kids. It's by this hill we used to call Bunny Hop. It's located like 27th or 26th st, and maybe Spruce or some tree avenue.
- This is what of the city you can see from the Logan Town Centre. The road beneath is I-99, and the road with 2 lanes each way in the backround is 17th St.
- This is where I buy my hobby supplies. You can get everything from Magic to Warhammer and everything inbetween.

- This house is 943 29th St. It used to belong to my gram. I wanted to buy it, when she couldn't keep up with it, but it needed too much. Now someone else owns it.
- This is the Altoona Public Library. It's a fairly large library, with a ton of books.
- This is Keith Junior High. I went here. They are going to turn it into apartments or something now.
- This is the resevior at Horseshoe Curve
- This is where I like to eat. It used to be the house of Chang, but they changed that!
- Ebner - I went to this grade school for awhile.
- This is the Penn Alto. Talk about a dump. It's a boatload of efficiency apartments. People tell me it used to be nice years ago...all I know is the crime and shit that goes on now...to think, The building behind the City Of Altoona cars is City Hall, and they let that crap go on.
